Miss Geraldine Deeney
Miss Geraldine Deeney, 68, of 165 Ross Street, retired Batavia school teacher, died at 7:04 this morning, August 4, 1969, in St. Jerome Hospital where she was admitted Wednesday. She had been ill for several months.
Miss Deeney was born in Java, a daughter of William and Catherine McCormick Deeney. She was a graduate of the former State Normal School at Geneseo.
Miss Deeney, whose first teaching assignments were at the former Williams and Pringle Schools, taught for a number of years at Jackson School. Before her retirement in 1965, she instructed a Sixth Grade at Junior High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church. Only cousins survive.
Arrangements are being completed by the Gilmartin Funeral Home.
