BATAVIA - Zita M. Muller, 82, died Saturday, August 20, 1994 in a nursing home.
 
Miss. Muller was born in Batavia April 26, 1912, a daughter of the late E.R. and Julia McGuinn Muller
 
She attended Batavia schools and St. Joseph's Elementary grades. She graduated from Buffalo State Teachers' College and received her master's in education from Cornell University. She taught at Jackson School in Batavia and was appointed principal at Pringle School in Batavia in 1944. In 1946, she moved to the Washington School and ws appointed first principal at John Kennedy School in 1956. She held that position until she retired in 1973.
 
She served on the St. Jerome Hospital Volunteer Committee and was elected to the board of trustees of St. Jerome Hospital where she also served o the building committee. She was a member of St.Joseph's Church in Batavia, was a charter member of the Batavia Zonta Club. She was a charter member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Genesee Club, served on the Batavia City Youth Bureau and the Red Cross Board of Directors and served as secretary of both organizations.
 
Surviving are her cousins Marlis Wagner Ritkowski; her children Jorg and Claudia of Germany; and a godchild, Catherine Burns of Chicago, IL.
 
She is the sister of the late Eugene Muller and Hildred Muller.
 
There are no prior calling hours. There will be a funeral seervice at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jerome Hospital or Hospice Family Care.
