BHS Industrial Arts Teacher Dies In Buffalo Hospital

Elmer A. Sewert, 50, of 8179 Prole Road Extension, Byron, industrial arts instructor at Batavia High School, died Friday, October 29, 1982, at Buffalo General Hospital, where he had been a patient three days.

Mr. Sewert was born March 1, 1932, in Buffalo, a son of George and Louise Frederika Sewert.

A member of First United Methodist Church, he was a member of Educational Employees Credit Union, Genesee-Orleans Industrial Arts Association, and New York State Teachers Association. He was an Elks Club Member.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Anne Riffe Sewert; one son, Peter Alan Sewert, of New Jersey; two daughters, Susan Becky and Cindy Ann, both at home, and one brother, Jack of Williamson. He was brother of the llate Norma and Ruth Sewert.

Friends may call at the Gilmartin Funeral Home Inc. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Elks Club members will meet at 7:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Services will be at 2 pm Monday at the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the church.
