Andrew was a great person. Some thought he was stand-offish but that was because he had high standards and commitments. He taught me that there are times when a person has to take a stand no matter how much popularity is lost.
Andy and I would often walk from BHS to our homes in south west Batavia. During these long walks we would talk about many subjects including our philosophy of life, where we came from, and where we were going. While we did not always agree, we both learned that there is more than one way to see a situation and to respect the opinion of others. There are many shades of gray. Later in life I came to appreciate that we both influenced the other for the better. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
