Virginia E. Dash

BATAVIA — Miss Virginia E. Dash, 91, of Batavia died Friday, (July 2, 2010) at the Batavia Nursing Home.

Miss Dash was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Elba, the daughter of the late Howard and Milly (Scroger) Dash. A 1937 graduate of Elba High School and Houghton College in 1941, she taught English for many years before retiring in 1972 as the Chairperson of the English Department at Batavia High School.

Miss Dash was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elba and was very generous during her lifetime to many charitable organizations. She left no living relatives.

As per Miss Dash's wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba. Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com. Arrangements were completed by the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, Batavia.
