I can really call Larry a "true friend", who I had the honor of knowing and spending my formative years with.. I will miss his wit & especially his humor. I will always remember our years playing Little League & high school baseball together and especially our time spent at McNeese & CCC.
Larry Sformo: 12/11/1941 - 12/18/2011 The following in formation was obtained from the full obituary in the Batavia Daily News.
Larry attended McNeese State College on a partial baseball scholarship and received his BA and MS degrees from Brockport State and also his Certification of Superintendency. He was an educator at Oakfield, Batavia, Pavilion, Pembroke and Medaille College and was striving to establish a school in Buffalo for the underrepresented children. Survivors include his wife Linda of 48 years, 4 children, 1 brother; 6 sisters, 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
I also knew Larry from grade school on and he one great guy--who loved to tease! Because I lived in the country, he always called me Farmer! This was in addition to Skip Plath who came up with Sammy! Larry's family started a hot dog stand a short way from where I lived so came to see him often there also. A nice guy passed way too soon. RIP Larry.
