Mrs. Huletta Darch Lambein

Mrs. Huletta "Huey" Darch Lambein, 81, a retired school teacher at John Kennedy Elementary School, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at Genesee County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Lambein was born March 19, 1920, a daughter of the late Herbert and Grace Forsyth Darch.

A 1936 Graduate of Batavia High School and a 1939 graduate of Geneseo Normal School, she received a bachelor of arts degree from Buffalo State College in 1952. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Batavia, where she was a live member of the United Methodist Women and Ingraham Class. She also attended Stafford United Methodist  Church.

Mrs. Lambein was a member and past president of Sertoma Wives; a member of the former Genesee Memorial Hospital League, where she volunteered for many years; a member of the Batavia Players; and member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, having retired from John Kennedy in 1979 after 37 1/2 years of teaching.

Her husband, Glen H. Lambein died in 1992.

Surviving are two daughter, Beth Ann (Stephen) Hooker of Wyoming and Glenna (James) Hinkson of East Bethany, a grandson Jesse Hinkson of Buffalo, four granddaughters, Alyssa and Kaleigh Hinkson of East Bethany, Nicole (Chad) Schneckenberger of Warsaw, and  Kristin (Jason) Howard of Dansville; close friends , Khamkeung (Liam) Phommavongsa, Chantavy Phommavongsa and Chineda Phommavongsa, all of Batavia, and Thongvash Phommavongsa of New York City; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was a sister of the late Lloyd, Donald, and Herbert Darch.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at H.E. Turner and Company, Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street. Services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
